Charity Barnum is a charity which focuses on giving back to charities and charities’ causes.
Its mission statement states, “Our mission is to ensure that the world can live in a world in which no one is left behind, where everyone has access to quality education, health care and other basic needs, and where everyone can live and prosper in a safe, dignified and just world.”
In a recent interview with RTE’s ‘Catch Me If You Can’ podcast, Barnum revealed that his charitable work involves helping the needy, the elderly and children.
He explained that charities have a role in society, but he feels that the role of charity can be more than just a “good deed”.
“It’s an obligation, and I think we’re all obliged to help the poor and the needy.
I think that there is a great responsibility to contribute to the well-being of the world.
It’s the most ethical thing you can do,” Barnum said.”
If you don’t, it’s selfish.
You’re selfish, because you think that charity is the only way you can help, but it’s really not.”
Barnum told RTE that he feels the charitable sector needs to focus more on charity and not just charity itself.
“I think we need to think about it as a way of life, rather than just as a cause or as a charity,” he said.
Barnum added that he sees a great opportunity for charities to make a difference in the world, saying, “If you’re going to make the world better, you’ve got to make it better for everybody.”
