Charity navigators have found the most successful charities in Boston, a new charity search tool that allows users to search for charities using a variety of criteria.
According to the New York Times, the Charity Navigator site was developed by the Boston nonprofit Navigators, Inc., and launched earlier this year.
Users can then see what their local charities are doing to help people in need.
“We’re excited to be able to provide our users with this powerful tool for finding charities that work,” said Tim Loomis, CEO of Navigators.
“We’re happy to help our users find more than 3,500 charities and support them in their search for the best charities for them.”
According to a spokesperson for Navigators the website allows users “to narrow down their search to the charities that are most relevant to them.”
“We use the results from our users to help create a list of charities that have the best outcomes for people,” said Rachel DeVito, a spokesperson at Navigators Boston.
“Our users have also been able to use this tool to get involved in local charities that can help people living in poverty.
We also offer these lists to charities in other states as well as abroad.”
In Boston, Navigators found that there are more than three times as many local charities as there are organizations in Boston.
